Today we discussed the Biden Administration’s new investments in climate and job growth via an expansion of offshore wind technology, as well as the use of coffee pulp to accelerate the growth of depleted forests. Darryl also led a conversation about NFT’s, artists and the environment, and an article from RChain community member Lansea about RChain and NFT’s.

0:34:22 – Lansea’s article: Overlooking NFT from the perspective of RChain https://www.yuque.com/guangzhishiyi/k…
Lansea’s points: 1 The rampant speculation around NFT’s isn’t the ideal way to exploit the bigger potential of what NFT’s can represent. 2 There is a trend in society – from the real to the virtual. computing power accelerates this trend. 3 Art – one of the oldest uniquely human activities – is no exception. NFT’s represent the birthing of this revolutionary movement of art’s value being expressed in the virtual space. 4 RChain’s tech has an advantage over others when examining the potential of NFT’s. “Recognizing the root cause, let’s look at artistic creation from the perspective of RChain. How can RChain help artistic creation develop in virtual space? We know that the art works corresponding to NFT are a pile of data plus the verification of the authenticity and integrity of the data by the program. RChain is based on Rholang calculus, rholang calculus is a combination of data and program calculus, with combinable scalabilityOSLF (Operational Semantics in Logical Form)Ensure the correctness and formal verification of Combinatorial Computing, plusCBC Casper consensus algorithm ensures the integrity and security of distributed data, and can provide an efficient and scalable basic platform for NFT mapping and circulation of virtual art works, this has a great advantage over other unexpandable public chains.” 5 However, NFT is far from the goal of RChain. NFT’s in their current state, are dead data. “if it is solidified data, then virtual art works have no advantage compared with real art works. If virtual art works are dynamic changes and can be interacted and combined, that greatly expands the boundary of virtual art and forms the advantage of dimensionality reduction and strike compared with real art. Therefore, the future virtual art must be the natural combination of data and programs, which can be combined and created at low cost, and can seamlessly interact with people and programs in the virtual space. Rholang combinable genes are naturally suitable for the creation of this future virtual art. RChain is the basic platform for the operation of this virtual space, this can mathematically prove the scalability and low cost advantages of combined interaction in the virtual world.”
